Shelli Yoder, one of five Democratic candidates for the 9th Congressional District seat, showed up to say whomever is elected to Congress will need to have the boldness it takes to find diplomatic solutions for conflict in the Middle East, and the courage it takes to consider peace, not war.

Bloomington resident Shelli Yoder, a candidate for the Democratic nomination for Indiana’s 9th Congressional District seat, has received an endorsement from former 9th District Chairman, Mike Jones.

“I served as the 9th District Chairman from 1988-2011. I know what qualities Southern Indiana looks for in leaders. I had the privilege of serving with leaders like Lee Hamilton, Birch Bayh, Frank McCloskey, and Evan Bayh, leaders who truly wanted to make a difference in the lives of others,” said Jones. “This is why I am doing something that I have never done before and endorsing a candidate for Congress in the Primary. I believe that Shelli Yoder will be an excellent Congressman for the citizens of the 9th District. Shelli brings new and fresh ideas to the campaign. She will not be for “politics as usual” and will stand up for working men and women and our children across the district. Southern Indiana and our nation are crying out for new leaders with the vision to lead us in a new direction. I sincerely believe that Shelli Yoder is the right choice in 2012.” (more…)
